Broadway alums Caissie Levy, Alison Fraser, Betsy Morgan and more have joined the cast of the world premiere of Michael John LaChiusa’s First Daughter Suite. As previously reported, the new musical will also feature Rachel Bay Jones, Mary Testa and Barbara Walsh. Off-Broadway performances will begin at the Public Theater on October 6. Opening night is set for October 21.
The show is a follow-up to LaChiusa’s 1993 musical First Lady Suite and explores the complex relationships between First Ladies and their daughters. The production, directed by Kirsten Sanderson, is scheduled to run through November 15.
Levy, who last appeared on Broadway in Les Miserables, will play Patti Davis and Julie Nixon. Fraser, a Tony nominee for The Secret Garden and Romance/Romance, is set to play Nancy Reagan and Betty Ford. Morgan, who currently serves as the standby for Anna in The King and I, takes on the roles of Trish Nixon and Susan Ford. Jones assumes the roles of Laura Bush and Rosalynn Carter, Testa will play Barbara Bush and Walsh takes on Pat Nixon.
The cast will also include Theresa McCarthy as Robin Bush and Hannah Nixon, Isabel Santiago as Anita Castelo and Carly Tamer as Amy Carter.
